BHS Band Members,

Hi, I’m Caroline Sprecher and I’m looking forward to returning as your drum major for the 2011 marching season.

If you’re a rising freshmen or other new band member…welcome to the Broughton Band.  We are excited that you’re joining us!  Expect to work hard, have LOTS of fun and meet some of your very best friends in the band program.  As any returning band member can tell you, you may feel a little nervous the first day of Band Camp.  By the end of the week, however, the marching, the music and the people will be very familiar!

Our program has a rich history and a proud tradition.  We have led every Raleigh Christmas Parade, and represented North Carolina in a Presidential Inaugural Parade.  Along the way, we have entertained at numerous football games and earned many awards at marching band competitions.  This year, we have the special distinction of returning to the Tournament of Roses Parade for the second time in four years.

For returning band students…welcome back!  I’m looking forward to working together to build on all of these traditions…and to make our own chapter of Broughton history.

Together, all of us will work hard to reach our full potential and to maintain the Broughton Marching Band’s tradition of excellence!  Have a fun and safe summer…I can’t wait to see you all at Band Camp on August 1^st!
